Moncada principles the larderia principles

The family of the Moncada was in Sicily already from the first years of the fourteenth century. They had greatest relief in the history of the island, and their vicissitudes often were tied to blood or violence facts. In the 1400's divennero duchi of Monforte and they interlaced the most driven in ties with the crown of Aragon. As soon as cent' years after the Moncada had in hand the fates of great part of the Sicily and occupied power and prestige places. Don Aloisio Moncada acquired in the 1684 country house of Larderia and obtained the title it of Prince. In 1727, after that the son Francisco had taken its place, the country house returned under the jurisdiction of the Senate. The same Francisco, like Vicario di Filippo V, King of Spain and Sicily, remained been involved in first person in the commotions bursts to you to Messina in 1718, because of the increase of the price of the bread. An other descendant, Guglielmo, participated in 1720 to the raid by horseback that was carried out to Messina in honor of Carl V, third king of Spain and Sicily. Varied are the legends tied to the proverbiale cruelty and cupidigia of the Moncada; it is narrated in fact, than the Prince, observing from the windows of its Palace the women who went to take the water to the river, amused themselves to talk nonsense on their "cottare" (water jugs for the water) for the taste to see bathed them.

One tells also, that if someone had been married, the Prince would have had the "right to the first night": the spouse had to pass the first night of wedding in house of the prince.
